Private Sian Ka'an Maya Temple & Mangrove Boating Tour
Description
Explore the jungle, and enjoy the wonders of nature in this Private Sian Ka'an Maya temple & Mangrove boating tour! Sian Ka'an is one of the most ecologically diverse places on earth as well as the largest protected area in the Mexican Caribbean.
This full-day tour will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the depths of the Mayan jungle, where you'll visit Muyil, an almost unknown Mayan temple, swim in a freshwater cenote as well and experience the UNESCO world heritage site of Sian Ka'an up close and personal by boat.
Built between mangroves and lagoons, Muyil is a one-of-a-kind Mayan temple in Tulum, and its strategic location made it a trading hotspot in the region. Muyil is comprised of three buildings, and a fourth smaller one way off inside the lagoon, which is presumed to have been used as a customs center.
Once you're done exploring Muyil, we'll take you to the Sian Ka'an Lagoon, where you'll board a boat that will take you through beautiful water canals. Feel the wind in your hair as you spot unique wildlife like pumas, jaguars, spider monkeys, and 90+ other mammals.
These mangrove canals were made by the Mayans and still survive to this day. They provide a relaxing swimming spot for visitors and fish alike. For 45 minutes, you'll float and swim down these azure fresh waters towards the end of the canal. The flora and fauna are incredible! Next, you'll walk on a long boardwalk overlooking the scenery and wildlife on your way back to the boats.
The Private Sian Ka'an Maya Temple & Mangrove Boating Tour also includes lunch at a small local restaurant before a refreshing afternoon swim and snorkel stop in one of the region's Mayan cenotes. This private tour is truly a chance to get off the beaten path and explore a part of Quintana Roo, Mexico that most people never see!
Expect a return to your hotel in Cancun or other parts of the Riviera Maya in the 5:30 to 6:30 PM range.
