Description
Discover Roatan while making a difference as you volunteer in Roatan. Get immediately submerged in "real" Roatan, the the rich and colorful culture of Roatan. If you’re looking for something a more meaningful than the average tour, the Community and Culture Experience is one of the most in-depth Roatan culture tours available.
You’ll get to mix your site-seeing with some of Roatan’s most interesting history and culture while giving back a little to the locals through your service. In this experience, you’ll meet your guide for the day, a local pastor that helps students get access to school supplies and supports the local children's home.
You'll still make stops at impressive birdseye viewpoints for pictures and opportunities for souvenir shopping. However, the highlight, is a visit to the local Children's Home at Roatan where you will get a chance to learn about the ministry and the work they do here. You’ll meet the staff and kids that live at the home on a permanent basis. Keen to volunteer in Roatan? This is your opportunity to play some board games with the kids and share some of your world with them. If you’d like to give back even more, you can also help a family in need by providing them with a small food provision which you can buy from the local supermarket.
Once you’re all set you’ll get more time to see the rest of the island. We’ll visit the chocolate factory and the rum cake factory for some yummy free samples. Top off the day with a stop at the Lighthouse for panoramic views of the island and lots of pictures to share with everyone back home.
